Aberdeen FC will play Turriff Utd in this seasons Morrison Motors (Turriff) Aberdeenshire Shield Final.
In a very hard fought encounter tonight the Dons overcame Cove Rangers 2 - 1.
There certainly was no holding back in tonights fixture with both teams fighting to meet Turriff Utd who have been waiting a month to find out who their opponents would be.
Cove Rangers certainly had the better of the first half with many chances going a begging. Cove hit the woodwork twice in the opening half hour and brought out a couple of very good saves from the Aberdeen keeper.
As we have seen on many occasions over this season if you don't take your chances you end up suffering and that exactally what happened to Cove as Aberdeen broke up the field to go into the lead one nil.
Things got worse for Cove just before the break as Aberdeen added a second goal from the penalty spot.
Just as it looked as though the Dons would go in to second half with a two goal advantage Cove got a goal back.
Both teams fought hard in the second half but there was no further scoring and the game finished 2 - 1 to the Dons.
